Law Institute of Lithuania (LIL) is the project Applicant institution that has much experience in conducting the research and the applied research activities in a field of public law, criminal law, international law and various aspects of criminology. LIL project staff will contribute to the project with the analytical activities researching the legal aid system needs (in Lithuanian model), providing the standards for the common system and providing the trainings.
Johann Wolfgang Goethe-Universität Frankfurt am Main
Johann Wolfgang Goethe University of Frankfurt (UniFra) and its outstanding project staff (prof. Ch.Burchard, prof. M. Jahn, dr. D.Brodowski) are the experts in legal aid and criminal proceedings topics both on national level and on the EU level. Project researchers are performing numerous research and providing international expertise on the legal aid topics (e.g., Twinning project on legal aid). During this project they will cover the Germany’s model and provide the further perspective to the common standards.
Lietuvos advokatūra
Lithuanian Bar Association (Advoco) is included to represent the lawyers and their position as one of the parties, involved in providing legal aid. Dr. I. Vegele, the president of the Bar, will provide the necessary expertise to the project partners in preparing the two manuals on evaluation and setting the minimal standards for different legal aid models. Advoco will also contribute by ensuring the participation of the necessary practitioners during the national trainings.

National Legal Aid Board Netherlands (NLA NL) is the institution, entrusted with all matters concerning administration, supervision and expenditure as well as with the actual implementation of the Legal Aid System in Netherlands. dr. H. Schilperoor, the Head of Board Stafft, researchers dr. Lia Combrink, dr. S. Peters have a long-term experience in working in this area and providing necessary expertise. They will cover the Netherlands dimension/model for the project, having necessary expertise both for the analytical activities and knowing the practice in this field.

State-Guaranteed Legal Aid Service (SGLAS) is the institution, entrusted with matters concerning administration, expenditure as well as with the actual implementation of the legal aid system in Lithuania and directly contributes to the implementation of the EU regulation regarding the provision of legal aid. The expertise and a long-term field experience of the project experts (dr. A.Baneviciene, D.Jarmale, who are the heads of this institution) is inevitable in order to receive a full information about the legal aid system, its peculiarities, and practice.
